How can I keep smells out of a Mascot Costume?
Question:At my job we have 7 mascot costumes. These mascots are kept in plastic drum kit cases. After each use we ask that they be aired out for at least an hour before put back into the case. We also ask that it not be put in the case if it is wet. However, we can't always guarantee that our mascot users do this.
Because the cost of cleaning the Mascots is expensive, we only clean them after 10 uses. In between this time we have tried Dryer Sheets, Lysol Spray and Febreeze to keep the smell out. However, the costumes still smell.
I was wondering about putting Cedar chips in each of the boxes. Does anyone else have any suggestions?
Answers:
Just let them sit out in the fresh air after!!
Coffee grounds really help with smell. . .also kitty litter. . .a lot of people have allergies to cedar chips - keep this in mind.
