Do maids clean when your not home?
Question:I would like to start a housecleaning business, but don't know or when to do it. Do I clean when the owners are home, or how do I get in if their not? Do they leave keys? Any suggestions?

I am not a maid, but I clean houses for extra money. One gal I clean for just once a month. She is at work and she usually leaves her door unlock. Another gal I clean for she is home and cleans with me. She will clean windows and glass while I dust and vacuum. It depends. If someone does hire you they may want to do a background check.
Do it when they are not at home. If you would feel better, meet with them, in their home, and go over what you do and do not do. Let them tell you what you can and cannot do. They may want you to do your first job or so with them home. Most will give you a key or have you arrive just before they go out and have you lock up when you leave. If you do get a key, have a statement in writing that they have given you the key and they have a right to withhold last pay check until key is returned. (Have them sign it and then you sign it. You each keep a copy of it.) This will protect you and them. Happy house cleaning!
They better or I wont pay them
Unless you provide a special service like topless maid it is done whe you are not home. You might work as a maid for a compant 1st to see rates and learn the ins and outs
My step-sister cleans houses and generally she does it when they are at work. She does have one client that is an older lady and when my sister comes over to clean her client always has fresh baked cookies or muffins or breads, etc.and coffee ready for her.
My sister started cleaning for her mother-in-law when she (the mother-in-law) broke her leg. The mother-in-law was so happy that she told a couple of friends, etc.
Another friend of mine put a notice in her church bulletin and ended up having to hire 2 people just to keep!

Yeah...call Molly Maid...they are bonded and insured ...and the guarantee all their cleanings.
I have been using them for years, and they are so extraordinary.they are like angels. As a matter in fact when I first started I gave them my key and they haven't had any trouble with them about it. They put a special code on their keys and only the manager and owner can access them. So I leave in the morning and I come back in the afternoon and its nice and clean!!
