How do I clean stains in toilet bowl?
Question:Just bought house and prev owners appear to have used something too harsh to clean toilets. Streaks inside bowl are rough as if porcelain is etched and within these etched areas are stained blue. We are on well and septic system.

Maybe try a pumice stone. You can find them in the cleaning dept. of any hardware store such as ACE or Home Depot. Just wear gloves as the stone can be rouch on your hands too. You just dip it in the water and gently rub on stains. Keep movement in one direction. It may seem like it is scratching the bowl but it really isn't. Good luck.
I would try The Works toilet bowl cleaner...but this may even be too harsh, as well. You may have to just get a new toilet.
sounds as if you have limescale deposits,use a limescale remover ,leave and brush before flushing
We use Lime Aways toilet cleaner (not the spray cleaner) in all the rentals we clean.NOTHING works better...it will get years of build up and rust.
I was in the exact same position. Both toilets looked like old gas station toilets that hadn't been flushed in a looong time. Go with the pumice stone. I wasted enough time and money on everything else. It does sound terrible while you are using it, but it works and gets all the stains off. Best few dollars I ever spent.
