I have beetle like bugs .help?

Question:my flat has little dark beetley crawlies. i clean and mop and vacuum but they wont go away. i have a dog !

They could have come in on your dog's coat.
Without seeing them, I couldn't even hazard a guess. Or maybe I could - do you have any pine trees close? There are very small dark beetles which feed on any dead pine wood; there are larger dark beetles which are the wood worm beetles which attack furniture in houses. Do you have any mysterious sawdust on the floor anywhere, maybe under an old cupboard? This is caused when the little woodwork grub matures into a beetle and burrows it's way out leaving tiny holes and sawdust, then they lay their eggs back on the wood and there is more burrowing, more holes, etc till the furniture falls apart. Very nasty if they get into roof timbers.
You need to catch some in a small container and find someone who can identify them - your reference library may be able to point you in the direction of someone.
