Whats the best washing powder for fat stains!?
Question:AGH - im using 'Arial' ( that i though was SUPPOSED to be the best) - but its rubbish because it wont get out oil splatters on tt-shirts ! any ideas ?
Answers:
God bless Vanish Oxi Action. Works like a charm - just add it to your normal washing powder and everything will be dandy.
The best thing you can do for oil/fat stains is to put dish detergent on the spot before you wash the clothes. Dish detergent is made to cut grease.
Spray with 'vanish' then wash with ' bold'
wisk, or tide
Just squirt it with a bit of washing up liquid and wash it again, it works every time for me!
409 It's made to cut burned on grease in a kitchen, and it's the only thing I know (besides dry-cleaning) that will break down grease, especially if you've already run it through the dryer. Do a color test first, and then soak the area an let it sit. Don't let it dry on. Then wash as usual.
Good Luck.
I always find that pre-treating the grease stain by rubbing on a bit of shampoo made for oily hair and adding a handful of baking soda to the wash along with the regular detergent helps a lot.
Fat stains don't use washing powder.
Good old fashioned washing soda. It will clean drains and strip paint but in small quantities added to the wash gets rid of grease. It is only 55p in Wilkinson's, cheaper than Vanish and better.
Blood, sweaty arm pit stains, skid marks, wee wee gussets, all gone!.
definately go for the washing soda (or crystals) cheap as chips and have many different uses, can also be used to clean tea stains off cups!
Biz, it gets out many organic stains. If you wan to spot treat COMPLETELY dissolve the powder in hot water and spot treat rinse completely, as Biz can cause bleaching and even eat holes in your fabric if left on long enough.
vanish oxy action put on the stain, add a bit of hot water, and put into the machine, then get the new concentrate surf brill Ive just started using it magic stuff
soad crystals its brill and works on alot of things just make up a strong solution and leave to soak for about half hour.then wash as norm
