I have 20 year old refrigerator leaking, water going into drain pan under frig every few hours, from frig.?
Question:Have replaced door gasket. Seems like it is defrosting every few hours? Too fast to evaporate.

A couple of things to try: Sounds like you have got a 'wet wall' refrigerator or (F/Fzr)- which does defrost every thermostat cycle. The stat may be too high forming too much ice on the back therefore a lot more defrost water draining away. Is the water tray overflowing or at 20 yrs has it rusted through and leaking? If leaking a quick repair is to line the tray with cooking foil - conducts the heat and stops the leak. Other thing to check has the compressor got a strong draught going passed it - cooling it and stopping the water from evaporating.
junk it and buy a new one its killing your electric bill
If it recently got hotter in you house, or you had the door open a lot, or it is more humid than before, it might be defrosting more often than before. If it's clear water, that's the only source you will have in the refrigerator. Just keep emptying the pan out so it doesn't get moldy. If it keeps up after a week or 2 then call someone.
