Is it possible to have a comforter cleaned at a dry cleaning store without the chemicals?
Question:Do dry cleaners offer any services in which they will clean a down comforter without using those chemicals? The comforter is too large to fit in any washing machines (at my home or laundry mat.)
Are there any other ways to wash it?

Wow, you must have one huge comforter if it won't fit into the large-capacity front-loading commercial washers. If you don't want the chemical dry cleaning, either, then your options are pretty limited. You could use a damp cloth with dilute laundry soap to spot-clean any surface dirt, then hang the comforter outside on a sunny day. This will air it out and the ultraviolet light will help sanitize it. It's been a while since I've had a down comforter, though, so perhaps they come with cleaning instructions now ... maybe someone else has more up-to-date info.
If the comforter is machine washable (i.e. not dry clean only) you can have it laundered at a cleaners. Many laundromats have a couple oversized washers and dryers that will accommodate a king-size comforter too.
You would have to go to a dry cleaner that does not use chemicals - and they do exist. You have to call around.
I wouldn't recommend trying to wash it yourself. I get my comforters dry cleaned (at a regular dry cleaner), and I let them air out for a bit before using them or storing them - to air out some of the chemicals.
My friend owns a laundromat and sees the dry cleaners coming in all of the time to use their large machines to wash comforters. Afterwards, they bring them to their store and charge you $40.00 for "dry cleaning."
