How do I clean limescale from chrome plated taps without removing the chrome plating.?

Before you go buy some expensive chemical product try plain old white vinegar. If what you are trying to clean can not be submerged in vinegar try soaking a paper towel and wrapping it around the taps and letting it soak for a while then take a cleaning brush and it should come right off. If it is a shower head that needs to be cleaned take a ziplock bag and fill it with vinegar and rubberband it around the showerhead and leave it for an hour or so. Hope this makes sense. Good luck.
Limescale remover!
malt vinegar and a tooth brush
Limelite is good stuff.
some stuff from walmart. I dont remember what it is but it comes in a red bottle and has three different colors..
I hear toothpaste is good for shining the taps - it might also remove the limescale- try it- it may work.
There are loads of products on the market. I use a brand called Shiny Sinx, but I am sure there are many more. You can also use bicarbonate of soda for a more eco-friendly alternative: make a paste of it with some water, and leave it on the sink for a few minutes then wipe it off. You shouldn't scrub too hard or it may scratch. I have heard that vinegar can also work if you use it as a rinse.
limelight/viakal or similar de-limescale product.

CIF limescale remover
CLR.go to home depot.works awsome
you should buy clr or i think the name of the other product is lime away...
Try mixing bleach with bicarb of soda to form a paste, cover tap with it & leave it for at least 10mins before scrubbing off. Cheap but effective.
i heard coca cola cleans up chrome very well. I saw it on one of those myth buster programmes. They rolled up tin foil and gently rubbed the chrome with it and cola. It worked, but I was wondering did the tin foil not scratch the chrome.
Wipe them with a cloth and vinegar.
CLR or Lime-Away, and an old tooth brush... both work great. Just make sure you rinse very well after cleaning, use in a ventelated area, and wear rubber gloves if you have sensitive skin.
Gel Kilrock is a gel type limescale remover in a jar with its own applicator brush. Because of the design of taps regular remover justs drips off before it can do the job properly. This stuff clings better to the underneath of the tap.
Use an old toothbrush to work it in to the stain and rinse thoroughly. Old stains may need another application.

If you can get it White Vinegar is the best thing money can buy and it dose no damage. You might have to do it a few times at first it will depend on how bad it is.
If you can't get White Vinegar try Lemon Juice that will take it off. It will take longer to work though.
If you have a Chinese food warehouse near you you can buy it by the gallon and it works out a lot cheaper. I've looked in all the main super markets for it and found they don't sell it.
Try it on your stainless steel sink if you have one and soak your shower head in it it will bring them up a treat.
You can use it to get stains out of carpets as well mix some with water and carpet shampoo. I got a wine stain out with it. Do a test first in case the colour runs.
White Vinegar is definitely one of Nature's secret weapons
Good Luck and remember no Limescale Remover.
