Tips for cleaning a saucepan?

Question:you know when you've had custard in saucepan, anyone got any tips to clean it quickly and easily?

Answers:
First rinse the pan out with cold water before you use it. Second, immediately after you've finished with the pan place it upside down on a flat surface so the rim is flat down, you might have to have the pan handle sticking out over the side. After about half an hour its own steam should loosen everything and it will rinse off easily. Same with milk pans.

not really ! leave it to soak for a few minutes, then use one of those metal scourers and some neat washing up liquid
scrunched up tin foil
Easiest to let it soak for a few hours.
boil water in it then scrape a little and pour it out.
Biological washing powder hot water and some elbow grease. Or get someone else to do it for you.
oven cleaner then salt the pan over heat to prove it again
Good answers already, hint, next time sit your pot in a pot of boiling water and then do your custard and it shouldn't stick so bad.
The best way is soak it, if still burnt on, then cover the burnt bit in salt and leave it to stand for a day or so and go from there.
chuck some washing up liquid in it and boil up the kettle and stick the water in and let it soak for a bit,tip it all out and try washing it as normal.
steep in hot water place pan back on the heat not too hot put in some washing up liquid, after a wee ten minute soak wash with scourer it will come off easy wash then rinse
Short and simple, dishwasher!! Hehe
leave it to soak in warm soapy water. pot scrubs can scrath the surface of the pot (if your bothered!), but if you boil salty water in in, it comes up spotless!!
leave soaking in soapy water till loosened.then wash away.
my mum always says for scrambled egg,put fairy liquid and water in pan and boil for a few mins.try that!
Use a bit of vinegar.
boiling water.we cook a lot of curry and rice and are forever washing up.try cooking with a little oil.please make sure it is not animal fat though.you should not allow custard to boil in the first place.to heat up the custard you should always stir on a low heat to warm up,not boil.if one of my wives was to ,make this sort of mistake i would scold her,but this is Britain innit.
put a dryer sheet in the saucepan a long with hot water. let soak for 20 minutes, viola!
soak it
fill with water bring it to a boil & let it boil awhile.
place a little soap powder in the pan fill with water and then boil it or you can use soda crystals do this the same way it also helps with really burnt on food as well
Put heaps of biological washing powder in pan and fill with very hot water, leave to soak and then scrub clean - works everytime!
i leave all that to my dish washer
