How can I get tar off the fabric on my car seat?
Question:If I use WD40 or lighter fluid it will just smear the stain, not get it out. Does anyone have an idea on how to get it off?

tryto remove as much tar as you can with what ever and don't worry about smearing it. After you have done this the best that you can, I would use a spray can of starting fluid and spray the ether down through the fabric so that the residual flushes below the fabric and you cannot see it. Always test the chemicals on the fabric at an inconspicuous place before carrying on their
Get it cold.
Try Gum remover or Ice and pull it off.
Or heat it up. Try one of those steamers.
The ice will harden it allowing you to scrape the bulk of it off.
After that, use goof off, lighter fluid or mineral spirits.
Test fabric first.
