Bleaching clothes.?

Question:i am about to do some laundry with whites. it's only 3 shirts, 2 pairs of socks, and one pair of capris. it says on the bleach bottle to add 3/4 cup. should i put soap in there too? and the normal amount?...last time i did whites i used 3/4 c. bleach and 1/2 cap of laundry soap and it was SO soapy. i had to do the rinse cycle like 4 times. oh, the washer is a normal size one. i will put it on a small/medium size load. any help?

no, i'm not stupid and YES i do know how to do laundry it's just that i usually don't use bleach. thanks!

Answers:
Yes you use soap too. Make sure there is not something else in the washer I.E. a red sock. Your clothes will come out pink.
Everyone who uses liquid bleach has at one time or another ruined a garment. Color safe granular bleach products are safer and easier on the clothes too.
I would use cold water and set machine to large load. I learned in a chemistry class years ago, that clothes get cleaner the more water you use. More water holds more dirt and rinses better.
My 2 cents.

Bleach eventually starts turning the clothes yellow and makes the fabric thinner. Use those "white-soak" products you'll find in the supermarket with all the other detergents. Your clothes will turn out whiter and they wont disintegrate like they do with bleach.
I usually use one small scoop of the white soak stuff (about a tablespoon) and then about half the normal scoop of the normal detergent with a full load of whites.
well don't use the ful amount of soap or bleach just pour alittle in of both not even half of what they say it took me year's but i still do mine right i just can't do my boyfriend's he work's on car's and i bleach the s****t out his stuff lol
1/2 cap of soap maybe to much for such a small load. also, cut down on the bleach you don't need that much unless you have a full load. Bleach will eat thru clothes after a while of washing like that. You could set your machine on medium load or wait until you have a full load.Good luck
Fill the washer to what ever level you choose, then add the bleach. Then the clothes, after it agitates a little add a little detergent a t a time til you see the suds.I never use more than 1/2 cup for my clothes.
