Hi, I use a squeegee.But not any Squeegee, it has to be a ,"Ettore" or not one at all.Those are the best,and sell replacement rubber to put into them with a turn of a screw. I also use a mixture of, water, a few squirts of Dawn detergent,and than fill the rest of the bottle with rubbing alcohol. That leaves No streaks what so ever! It's fast,and easy and works better than Windex! bye,but be care full around flame,it's highly flammable.
Newspaper, seems to leave less streaks and looks way better
I use a paper towel because i always have them around. but my dad swears by the squeegee. Actually, now that i think about it, i can't remember the last time i washed the inside of my windows. I like to pressure wash the outside for the obvious reason that pressure washing is fun
I prefer a little Windex and an old t-shirt or a cloth which has been washed at least once. I like papertowels too but the cloth seems to lock away the dirt without spreading it around and getting soggy.
Newspaper seems to bring out the glare

Microfiber is good but not for fingerprints
New towels leave little pieces of themselves

the best thing you can clean your windows with is Orvus it is horse shampoo and it is made by proctor and gamble and can clean your windows and take spots out of clothes and carpets and can be used to clean fine quilts.and all you need is 2 rags one for washing and one drying and you do not have to dry the window completely you will have steak free windows. 1 tablespoon to a half a bucket. plus you can clean your cat/dog with it too. I LOVE IT.
A five gallon bucket filled with warm water half a cup of sudsing ammonia, and a squirt of dawn...save some in a squirt bottle for later times. A window mop head and a squeegee from home depot or Lowe's and a cloth babies diaper...use mixture and mop, squeegee from the middle fanning out to get the edges (left right) for almost all the solution cleaned off what you missed wipe up with the cloth diaper or you can use a dinner napkin...save the bottle and the cloth for spot treatments...this also works great on all your mirrors and glass in the house. I clean windows professionally.
