Can anyone suggest something to get rid of mildew smell in clothes.?
Question:I had these stored and now they smell musty. Is there anything to add to washer to help?
Answers:
COLOR SAFE BLEACH
VINEGAR! no your clothes won't smell like vinegar after - promise! i use it all the time. it's a great disinfectant and natural purifier! i use it on all the yard clothes too. toss some in the rinse cycle with towels and other "poofy" type things like sweaters and sweatshirts and you'll have less pilling and poofy clothes!!
Color safe bleach does work, but so does adding about a cup or two (depending how bad) of white vinager to a hot wash load, and it's cheaper.
I agree with VINEGAR! And I deal with urine-soaked clothes (elderly incontinence) - never smells - like urine or salad dressing - afterward.
Use some Tide Laundry Detergent with Downey.
If they are white use bleach. Colors, besides regular laundry soap, vinegar, color safe bleach, baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, Lysol (for laundry, in the old days you added it to baby laundry for the smell and germs)
