i don't know which is better between paint and stain for mold, but stain can handle weather conditions better than paint. another option is to look for bathroom paint... it is resistant to growing mold (but doesn't mean mold PROOF).
for the mold, use 1 part bleach to 10 parts water, and spray directly on the mold and other mold prone surfaces. this will kill the live mold, not just clean the surface mold. every couple of months, spray again! it is a cheap and effective solution!
spray it with diluted bleach (1 to 10 ratio), you can also purchase paint that helps prevent mold growth
I would use soapy water with bleach to clean it. Then after it dries I would buy a stain blocking paint called "KILZ". It keeps stains from mold or leaks from seeping through. It works great.
I would hook up a small fan under the covered porch to move the air around and help take the mold away.
