How do you wash duvets?

Question:how do you wash duvets? It seems like you cant, but i remember looking at a duvets tag and it saying the instructions so there must be way. Do you just put them in the washing machine? Can you tumble dry them? If not... what do you have to do and what would happen if you did tumble dry them?

thankyou

Answers:
Yes you can wash both in the washing machine in warm water and one cup of White Vinegar will clean and freshen your duvet cover, no need for any washing detergent to be added to the wash this vinegar will also whiten and brighten duvets.

For the pillows just add a quarter cup of Baby shampoo to the wash water, cool wash only, then put pillows in dryer on delicate or low and add a new tennis ball to add fluff

Good Luck !

regular wash and dry
I take my duvet to my nearest Launderette and ask for a service wash, they have large drum washing machines there. I would not recommend putting it in a household size washing maching/ tumble dryer.

Leave it to the professionals, my duvet always comes back fresh, clean and feeling like new.
To wash your duvet, first remove the insert. Now you have what is the bulk of about two sheets.
This can be washed on gentle, alone, with as much water as your largest load will take.
Put the detergent into the water and agitate and then add the duvet.

To dry, put it in the dryer BUT, do not let it get completely dry. Keep a close eye on it and take it out when it's almost dry but not over done. Lay it out on the bed to let it finish drying and then reinsert the comforter.
I would wash the duvet cover at home, according to label directions...I do that all the time, when it comes to washing the the insert, I take it to the laundromat to wash in the big commercial washers or take it to the cleaners and get them to do it if I can't be bothered to wait in a laundromat...most residential washers are not big enough to hold a duvet...so, there is a risk of damaging your duvet or worse, your washer...the same with dryers...
