Nail polish won't come out. Let it dry and then trim it out with scissors.
remover is 95% acetone. If you are saying you tried that without luck, than you will need to buy some naptha.
Try mineral spirits. (Paint thinner) Try putting a little on a rag and just dabbing it over the stained area. Might take several attempts, but let each application dry in-between so you're not just rubbing it deeper into the carpeting.
