Do I need a new washer machine?

Question:My washer was not stored right in "storage" It was rained on and in, and now has rust inside of it. Is there any way to get rid of the rust with out getting rid of the washer machine

Answers:
try a can of WD40,preferably liguid,not spray,pour 1/2 in and wash on largest load,repeat twice,then run rinse 3-4 times,this should help it,good luck

Go to your grocery store or Wal*Mart, etc. & buy a can of a powdered cleanser called Zud. It's great at removing rust stains. Make a paste of Zud & water on a clean cloth, & rub well until the rust is gone, then rinse off with a damp cloth, & dry it with a clean rag or paper towel. Repeat steps if rust isn't coming right off. It works great on removing rust stains out of toilets & tubs, etc.
