Baking soda. I often just shake some down the drain, add a bit of cheap white vinegar and let it do it's job. Then I follow with a few pots of boiling hot water. Sounds to me like your drain needs a good flushing out. Baking Soda is your first, best step. Its cheap and it works. Why else would we keep it in the fridge to kill odors??
After that, a good drain cleaner once in a while might help. And keep the strainer in your sink and don't let food bits get down there.
use 50/50 bleach and water, and next time try scrubbing once a week with comet.
If it is coming from your garbage disposal, try running it then putting down a few trays of ice cubes and even an orange or lemon cut up into fourths. This will help deodorize your disposal and the ice will help sharpen the blades. If the smell isnt from a disposal then you have something stuck in the drain between the sink and the p trap (the p trap has water in it to keep the gasses from coming up from further down the drain). You may want to use a foam drain cleaner in this case. Hope this helps.

SULFUR ?? Food should not smell like that. Are ya cooking something you shouldn't be ?? Or mixing explosives ? Are ya sure it's not sewer gas ? The Gas Company has meters that can detect odor. Ask them to come to do a check. If it is sewer gas coming up thru the pipes it can be dangerous to breath in. Even fatal. Check it out.
maybe plung your sink and then put blech in it for a long time.
good luck! :D
