I love this product (spray) called Cabinet Magic. It cleans well and doesn't leave a sticky residue. It can be used to clean and protect wood furniture and cabinets. You can probably find it at Linens & Things or Home Depot.
This is what it looks like

Try a wood polish - like Pledge or Old English.
You need to dissolve the soil (which is probably oil-based) with an oil soap like Murphy's. Use it according to the directions. Don't scrub with a "scrubbie" or you'll end up scratching the finish, or making shiny spots on the wood. Spray it on (hot water works best to make the solution) and scrub with a sponge. The goal is to dissolve the grease with the soap. Put a bunch of newspaper on your countertop to catch all the drips and spray liberally. Avoid harsh detergents since they can also strip finish.
Old English is the best. I too have all wood cabinets, and that's what I use. It really spruces them up as well. Good luck!
I like Scott's Liquid Gold or OrangeGlo. Both smell good, and clean well. Use a microfiber cloth to apply, it will help to scrub without being abrasive. If this isn't working, you may want to try a vinegar and water solution, but test this on an inconsicuous area first. The more vinegar the stronger the cleaner, but I would start with something pretty diluted. Good luck!
Try Murphys Oil Soap. That is what I use on my Kitchen Cabinets. Also Lowes sells a special chemical just for wooden Kitchen Cabinets.
I use "Murphys Oil Soap" to clean my oak cabinets, it takes off any build-up. After that drys, then I use Pledge to give them a nice shine. They look like new afterwards. Good Luck!!
