You can try rubbing it with an art-gum eraser. Get one from a office supply store for about a dollar.
Try putting a little bleach mixed with water on the spot!

Read up on check washing (which is a big crime if you were to actually do it to a check and change the writing on it). The two more popular chemicals for that are acetone (nail polish remover but not watered down) and bleach.
If the ink is from a Uni-Ball 207, you're out of luck.
