Anyone know how to remove ink from a carpet?

Question:

If the ink is fresh, hairspray works. Spray it in and dab it out with a damp cloth. Dont rub it.

I would try acetone. If you don't want to put something very harsh on your carpet, try a little dab of nail polish remover first. It's basically the same as acetone only a bit milder. My mom used this to get paint out of carpet.
Spray the stain with hairspray and then using a white washcloth and white soap, gently rub the stain. Continue using the hairspray and white soap/washcloth until the stain is gone. Only use a white washcloth and white soap otherwise a transfer stain will occur from either the colored washcloth or soap.
