I was using the microwave and burned a meal so badly that the house was filled with smoke. I opened windows -
Question:put fans on - cleared the house of the smell. I cleaned the micro several times - but it still smells badly. Does anyone have any suggestions to get rid of the burn smell in the microwave?

Try a solution of bleach and dish soap. The bleach should kill the smell and clean it well too. I use a spray bottle to apply the solution, leave it sit of cpl minutes before wiping. If there is crusty food particles heat the microwave for 30 seconds to warm it up. Good luck!
Put a large, microwave safe dish in the micro. Fill it with a 50/50 mix of water and white vinegar. Let it run for 4-5 minutes, but be sure not to let all of the water boil away. Then wash it again. Careful! It will still be hot.
If that doesn't solve it for you, sit a box of baking soda or activated charcoal in it for a few days with the door closed.
Microwave some lemon in a bowl of water. That's what the cleaning lady said on t.v. but I haven't done it.

take out the spatter thang on the inside roof part. wash completey using diluted chlorox or some Orange based cleaner..take ourt all glassw are and make apaste of bakingsoda/cleaner orange..and rub all over..burned stuff could've got in the fan system..good ruck

place some brown sugar on a plate or saucer
heat at high for about 3 minutes till the brown sugar is real caramelized.
that will take the smell of burn out
ONE TIME MY MOM PUT A POTATO IN .IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE 10 MINUTES.SHE ACCIDENTALLY PUSHED 100.I DONT THINK THE SMELL EVER CAME OUT. IF IT DID IT HAD TO WEAR OUT.
