After the glue dries, scrape the surface with a single-edge blade in a razor blade holder. The kind used for scraping paint that allows withdrawing the blade into the handle. Keep the scraper very low to the surface. Scrape gently against the raised glue. When the glue does not feel raised anymore, you've done the best you can with this method.
