How to I get the grease smell out of my Kitchen towels?
Question:
Answers:
when they are rinsing add baking soda. this will take the smell right out!
citrus oil
wash it 5 times
I would use one of those products on the market that cut grease and also, maybe use tide with febreeze in it. I use that and it helps rid me of odors in clothes.
try adding some amonia to the wash water..but be very careful not to breath the fumes.
A little bleach, or if you're trying to avoid chemicals, try vinegar and baking soda in the wash. 1/2 cup of each.
Oxy clean- it's wounderful- my ex husband worked in a resturant so his clothes always smelled like grease, thats when I started using oxy clean!
I had this problem once before myself. If you tale one cup of apple cider vinegar and add to the wash on hot water (do not mix with bleach) this will break it loose and get out the smell. You may chose to rinse a second time.
For extremely greasy towels: Pre-soak towels in water with Dawn dish detergent and Arm&Hammer washing soda. Then launder as usual.
But you usually won't need to pre-soak the towels, unless the amount of grease is excessive. Just add washing soda and/or 20 Mule-Team Borax detergent booster to the washing machine to get better washing results and to neutralize bad odors.
A little bleach in the water with your laundry detergent should be enough
In response to the answer given by "Sunny". DO NOT put vinegar and baking soda in your washer at the same time. Trust me.
a couple different things can work on grease smell:
vinegar, ammonia, baking soda, oxyclean, awesome orange, bleach. really anything that cuts grease can be used. just don't mix any of the two products listed together.
1/2 cup of borax in the wash
1 cup of white vinegar in the rinse
