Do I have space for a LG Steam Washer / Dryer?

Question:My laundry closet is very small and currently has a (crappy) Fridgidaire combo stackable in there. The closet is basically 36 inch wide, 36 inches deep, and 80 something inches tall. The LG washer / dryers are 29 3/4 inches deep. Would basically 6 inches of room be enough for the gas line, dryer vent, and other plugs? Additionally, do think it would be a problem to just stack and install the set outside of the closet and then just push it inside of the closet.

One more thing, my floor is cement with linoleum over top, will that be sturdy enough for the set not to make noise?

Answers:
You'll be ok, it's just going to be a "b!tch to actually do because of the tight space.

It would probably work, but double check were the vent is for the dryer. Some are actually on the side of all places. If it is all in the back, then 6" should be plenty.

If you have a standard door on it with trim moulding, 80" is going to be a tight squeeze to just slide in. How wide is your door opening? That actually would be my biggest concern. If the closet is 36", then the door is probably no bigger than 30-32". And, that may be a tight squeeze, too.

Just make sure your hoses, vents, and electrical cords are long enough to connect BEFORE you slide it back in there.

Friend of mine just bought an LG stackable washer/dryer set and has had manufacturing issues with both of them. She's had both replaced. However, don't get me started on Frigidaire. Handwashing and line drying is better than using a Frigidaire appliance.
We have a new LG steam washer and dryer set and I would say that 6 inches extra would be enough to accomodate the dryer vent. I wasnt aware you could stack them though. Is there a kit for doing that? You might wind up tearing your linoleum scooting both stacked. That's a lot of weight to slide. The units are very quiet...no problem there. One other note though. Personally I DO NOT like either the washer or dryer. I had never owned a front loader washer before and I have decided I hate it. I drop half the clothes on the floor transfering the clothes from the washer to the dryer. The dryer is touted as being SO energy efficient and I believe this MUST be because it seldom EVER completely dries the clothes when on an auto-dry setting. The dryer drys VERY slowly and so it takes me twice as long to get the laundry done. The set sure LOOKS good though...that's IT! Not worth the money in my opinion. Good luck!
