Burnt smell?

Question:What's the best way to get the burnt smell out of the microwave ?
I am so in trouble ! :(

Answers:
We bought a new microwave and the first thing cooked in it was popcorn (by our son) and he burnt it to a crisp. I mean black smoke.

We found if you boil water it will get rid of the smell the fastest but it really don't matter because someone will know what happened.

I'd say wash it out with dish soap and water, then put a small bowl of baking powder in the microwave. If it works for the fridge and freezer, then why not for the microwave?
Unfortunately getting the burnt smell out of anything can be pretty tough. Time is the best cleaner on this one.
Scrub the microwave with dry dishwasher detergent (it's abrasive, so it will get into the pores). After you've cleaned the microwave, pour some vinegar into a microwave-safe dish, and microwave the vinegar for a minute. That SHOULD get the odor out. If that doesn't work, I'd buy a new microwave!

Good luck!
Your best bet in order to remove the burnt odor in the microwave is just boil some water and add four tablespoons of White Vinegar in a microwave safe container or a cup or bowl, then remove and air out microwave for a few minutes, thats it the burnt odor will be removed, if not repeat above process once more, and dry the inside of the microwave when done. Or use this solution and method, Steam-clean your microwave

To clean your microwave, place a glass bowl filled with a solution of 1/4 cup vinegar in 1 cup water inside, and zap the mixture for five minutes on the highest setting. Once the bowl cools, dip a cloth or sponge into the liquid and use it to wipe away stains and splatters on the interior Good Luck !
Wipe it down with Clorox disinfectant, wipe it down with fresh lime juice, and then again with Clorox disinfectant. Leave it open overnight to air out, then repeat the process the next day if the smell is still there. Be sure to thoroughly wipe the inside with water before cooking food in it again. This works for many smells, but the burnt smell can be annoying when it adds that "flavor" to your food. Good luck and God Bless!
Open it up and toss a bunch of dry baking soda in there. Let that sit for a while, then get a wet rag and scour the whole thing. Rinse and wipe a BUNCH of times or you will have a milky residue. Turn on the fans and open the windows too, because much of the burnt smell is in the room and/or house, so it'll help to get that out! Good luck! ;)
