I burned bacon and now my house REEKS...help?

Question:So I was making breakfast this morning for my roommate and myself and through stupidity on both of our parts I accidentally overcooked some bacon. It wasn't charred or anything but it was definitely not edible. So now, my house smells like bacon...it's SO strong. I can't get the smell to go away. Our landlord painted our windows shut and we can't get them open so I've left my front door open with just the screen door closed and I've turned on the fan over the stove but it really doesn't seem to be getting better. Anyone have ideas on how to un-bacon my house? I'm having company tonight...!

Answers:
Bowls of vinegar set out will help diminish the odor somewhat.

You could also simmer some cinnamon and cloves in a pot of water on the stove - but don't forget about it! :)

Put some vinegar in your coffee maker and run it through - the smell of the vinegar will diminish quickly and get rid of other unpleasant odors.
try burning insence or something.. or use the bayfresh air freshener that removes odor and such.
Boil some vinegar in one of your cooking pots. keep vent turned on above the stove, Get some odor neutralizer and spray it then wait a few minutes and spray some air freshner.
Spray the whole house with Fabreeze (all fabrics ie carpet, curtains, couch...) Sprinkle arm and hammer carpet fresh all over the house, let it set for a while and then vacuum.

Works every time.
