Which is a better vacuum cleaner, Kirby, Dyson, or Oreck regardless of the price?
Question:
Answers:
I haven't used a Dyson, and a Kirby works good but is heavy and klunky. I have used an Oreck and I was very impressed. It cleans well and is very light. I would buy one.
My favorite is Kirby...Rainbow is also good but if I could afford another Kirby I would get one
Kate Moss's nose
Consumer Reports usually picks Kenmore.
kirby
i would say kirby its the king/queen of vacums gd luck in yr quest.
My favorite has always been Electrolux, although rather expensive.
I have an oreck, it is light weight but not much suction. I have friends who have a Dyson and they like it but I am sure the best one is the Kirby.
i can't wait to find out myself, i have clogging problems, no matter what vacuum i use it gets clogged. Can't afford a dyson to find out it won't work either. but if i had to pick, i would find one that has the least amount of turns in the hose to get to the container. seems thats where they clog up.
My vote is for the Dyson. The Dyson Dc17 is a bagless that works great. I have 2 American Eskimos and this vacuum does the job!
Had an Oreck, liked it a lot. It didn't have the attachments though.
Panasonic - has a bypass motor so things don't ruin the motor if they are sucked up. Currently, my favorite so far and has never broken down in 10 yrs.
Sebo - a German made quality vacuum which may be my next pick if I get a new one, just to try something new.
Miele - I hear these are very good too.
Dyson - wouldn't bother, I think they're over-rated, may beat the carpet fibers to oblivion and expensive to repair. I have not heard anyone that's had a great response to them.

I bought a Dyson at Wal-Mart, loved it. Then the Kirby guy came knocking and I made the BIG mistake of letting him in. Well, I was taken in by the bells and whistles, and 3 hours later, I "traded in" my Dyson for the Kirby. The next day (it was 9pm by the time the guy left!) I realized I couldn't use the big heavy Kirby! I never actually used it when the guy was there, other than the attachment for hard floors. I have a bad back and the thing was far too heavy. I called to cancel (you have 3 days to do so) and the salesman called me. He was MAD, "whatever'd" me, and eventually hung up on me! 3 days later, he finally showed up, my Dyson in tow. He again pretty much called me a liar and was incredibly rude. He was a complete jerk, and 93 years of Kirby reputation went down the drain for me. They can be really charming, but wow, do they turn ugly if you decide not to get a Kirby! My Dyson works just fine and is much lighter. If I were you, and a Kirby guy knocked on the door, I wouldn't let him in if the vacuums were $50, which they aren't. If he had handled it well, I would have bought a lighter model of Kirby (if they made it). Now, NO WAY would I let a Kirby guy get one toenail in my house. Go to www.dyson.com and leave the slick Kirby guys alone. Run fast and run far if you see one coming!
Kirby
I believe that Kirby is the best. They have been around for as long as I can remember. My mother bought one when I was a little girl, about 54 years ago and it worked for almost all of my life. I realize they are quite expensive today but they are the best as far as I am concerned.
Dyson by a lot. They have more suction power than any other. Dyson also offer five year warrenties and 24 hour phone help lines. They are also easier to use because they have the longest hoses and never clog. They are the ones I sell the most and people rave about them all the time.
