How do I get parrifin off of a regular floor to floor carpet?
Question:
Answers:
My wife says: put down some newspaper, or better yet, some butcher's paper (no print!) on it and iron it. THe wax will seep into the paper, due to the heat. You might still need to have it cleaned professionally, though.
Try an iron and paper towels.
Change out the paper towels when they get wax seeping into them.
I read the first answer, but depending upon your carpet the heat of the iron might melt some of your carpet. I'd suggest using a hair-dryer. Because it will also deliver heat, but it wont be in such close contact with the carpet.
try an old plain white towel damp with water and an iron on a low heat setting. the wax will transfer to cloth better than paper. watch closely as some carpet, such as berber, has a melting point of 180 degrees. use a solvent to remove any residue and rinse thoroughly. may need a pro especially if the wax is red.
