How do you get the scum off the bottom of a shower stall? I've tried everything!?

Question:I just bought a house and the shower stall in the master bedroom has brown/grey scum on the bottom! I've tried Comit, pine sol, bleach, all purpose cleaner, etc.. to remove it but nothing has worked. I am looking for a solution of some sort to remove the scum so that I don't have to purchase a whole new shower stall.

Answers:
try the CLR stuff for batrooms.at the rate you're going it might be safer to buy a new shower stall (you can write it off later), that way you don't have to continue to inhale the chemicals.

I think a good woman could take care of that for ya, lol
Mr. Clean magic eraser.
Plug up the shower drain and let a few inches of bleach soak in. Open a window to air the smell out. If that does not work you can try.the spray-on oven cleaner stuff...again open a window as this is nasty stuff. Orange-based cleaners and alot of elbow grease can also help.
plug up the drain and pour straight vinegar on it.
Let it set for a day. Cover it all with at least one half inch of vinegar. Vinegar will kill the fungus. Then just rinse it away.
ok, first you could try scrubbing bubbles spray, thats very good for cleaning tubs. and use one of those scrubby sponges made for kitchens, non abrasive type. if that wont' do it, get the lysol toilet bowl cleaner the plain blue one, if that will knock the sh** off any toilet it will get the scum off your shower. by the way by letting things soak you save yourself the elbow work. let it set about 15 minutes to soak in.
YOU MAY NEED TO CALL A CLEANING COMPANY, THEY HAVE STRONGER CHEMICALS THAT ARE ACID BASED AND CAN REMOVE JUST ABOUT ANYTHING.
Mr. Bronner's liquid soap and a butter knife. Wet and lather the area. Then scrape away. You might not need to use Bronner's, perhaps anything else will do. The secret weapon is the knife. It can get rid of scum. Buenas suerte.
Use distilled white vinegar.Put it into a spray bottle, heavily spry let set a few minutes then scrub. If it is really bad you may need to do this more tan once.Use white winger on a number of cleaning jobs, works great to get toilet bowels clean. It is also a disinfectant.Good luck
Try using 'Kabaam". I 've used this product on various hard to clean surfaces and it works quite well. You can find it at Wal-Mart or Target, or other various type stores.
i would try greased lightning with orange oil. you can find this stuff at walmart and hardware stores and places like k-mart. that stuff is so strong that it will clean ovens and take grease of tires. it won't eat the finish off your tub
Sounds like you've really thrown every thing at it. If you are slightly handy, you can refinish it with out replacing it.

I found a product in the paint department at Home Depot that is a two part epoxy paint that is specifically designed for refinishing shower pans and tubs. It comes in white and almond. Unfortunately, I don't remember the manufacturer, but it comes in a little kit with the two cans, gloves, and mixing stick. I think a roller or brush may have been included too.

My shower floor was disgusting and I used this stuff and it turned out awesome. It's been 8 months since I did it and no signs of chipping or flaking at all.

Follow the directions to the letter and be sure to clean the floor well with TSP before you start. It will look like a brand new shower, I promise!
I know this sounds weird but scrub it with lemon oil...it WORKS! After scum is gone clean it with magic eraser and scrubbing bubbles...if glass follow with a glass cleaner. Lemon oil works good especially on plastic. Afterwards for up keep and to make sure it does not return wipe lemon oil on surface about once a month, so the water just beads off and doesn't have a chance to collect scum again:)
