How do you wash a hat (baseball cap)?

Question:i have a dirty hat but i like it soo much how to wash it??

Answers:
Use a dish pan with hot water and detergent and an old toothbrush. It takes awhile to clean it, but it gets the best results.

In the dishwasher.
in the dishwasher on a hat rack
Well it depends on its shape. If you want to keep the bill curved, I have heard of people sticking the bill in a cup (to hold shape) and putting it through the dishwasher. If that's not good, then you could always take it to the local dry cleaner. They will be able to professionally wash it and keep it looking nice!
At Lids in are local mall , they sell hat molds you can put your hat in and put it in the washer. I would do it gentle cycle.
yes - in the dishwasher - but make sure you don't put it on the "hot" pots and pans setting. make sure it is secure so that it will not warp. You can also buy a fixture that you can put the hat in to put it in the dishwasher. I would put money on it that they are under $5.00 at a target or wal-mart type store.
I have to wash my hubby's hats all the time and all you need to do is put them in a normal wash cycle (cold water is the best) with your normal laundry soap and fabric softener and once the load is done, leave the hat on top of the washer or dryer to dry.

You can dry the hat, but I find it changes the shape of the hat (and if your like my hubby, he has his hats in a specific shape that he doesn't like ruined)
Do you have a dishwasher? try it on a very cool, short cycle and the let it air dry. Dont use a lot of dish detergent if you use any. Worked on my ex husbands hats and his were really dirty and gross.
Dont have dishes in the washer at the same time.
I wash my in washer and air dry it...my brother runs it on the top shelf of the dishwasher
in the dishwasher in a hat rack shape thingy ya
dishwasher...but u should really use a hat rack or it will get misshapen.
My brother told me that he did this and it worked great. Basically just soak the hat in a large bowl or container with detergent dissolved in warm water. I'm not sure how long you should leave it, but just check on it periodically, maybe after one hour, then two, and see how it looks.
I was in the same predicament a little while ago. I just got some soap and while running it under some water I scrubed at it. I can't say I got great results, but it cleaned it up alot.
I've heard you can wash them in the dishwasher, but I just throw my husband's in the washing machine and let them air dry.
My husband was in the military and I use to see him wash his hats in the kitchen sink with dish soap. If I had to do it I would use laundry soap and an old toothbrush.
ohh, just wash in one of those nets and put a safety pin where it opens and put it in the washer and DO NOT DRY IT and must lay flat
