How can i clean after a fire?

Question:i had a grease fire on the stove how do i get all the black off my walls? and when there is a greas fire whats the saftest way to put it out?? i put a cover on it and it shattterd

Answers:
a good cleanser, Brillo pad and some elbow grease should remove the soot and burned paint every thing else you will need to paint over I recommend "kills" primer before you paint and while your at the hardware store the should carry fire extinguishers you should get a "K" class or a "A,B,C class for the kitchen but if they have the option get the "K" class that is designed for kitchen use only that would be the best and safest way

just remember that water on that kind of fire will intensify it.

You need sugar soap to clean the walls. To rid the smell of smoke, put a pot om the stove ,let it boil, then add vinegar, Turn down the heat and allow the water to simmer for as long as it takes to rid the smell. When there is a grease fire use a damp towel, not wet just damp, through it over the flame , and turn the gas or electric off. and close the door be-hide you. Like this the smell stays´in the one room. and so does the fire if it get´s out off hand
A metal, not glass or ceramic lid is best to smother a fire, or use baking soda. NEVER use water. To clean, use simple green.
