How can I get rid of very stubborn stains in the toilet?
Question:I have scrubbed wearing rubber gloves and using sos, comet and pine sol. Still there is a stubborn grey shadow that won't come off.
Answers:
Anything that remains after you have assaulted it as you have is probably a result of calcium deposits. Try using something that attacks such; the easiest and cheapest thing to try is vinegar, used full strength. Commercial products such as lime removers might work.
try strait bleach OR LIME AWAY toleit bowl.. it has worked for me. u may have to do it several times, but it should come off.
Try Coca-cola!! Pour in a can and leave overnight (if you can! if you have a spare loo!). Then scrub in the morning, shouldn’t take much effort.
I believe "CLR" is pretty good too and can be bought from most supermarket stores like Woollies. CLR stands for Calcium, Lime and Rust. "CLR" iss made by: Advil Pty Ltd, in Australia. I dont know if its available outside of Australia
The porcelain itself may be compromised but you can try CLR (calcium, line, rust). Pour it in and let it set for a while. If it doesn't take it out, your option may be replacing the toilet.
Try some Lysol toilet bowl cleaner, Pour a bucket of water down the toilet to rid of most of the water. Coat the inside with the bowl cleaner and let it soak for 15-20 mins. Take a brush to it and flush. You will be surprised what stains it will bring out. =)
Be sure not to get this cleaner on anything else, because it will eat a hole in it.
Go buy a box of Iron-out and follow the instructions on the box.
