Cleaning a mirror?
Question:I have a mirror and it has a greasy substance on it. I clean it will Windex but it's not taking it off. What can I use to clean it. Also its an old mirror if that makes a difference.
Answers:
Shaving cream also works.
just try and get some soap and water on a papertowel and then wipe it off, then if youve got streaks get some newspaper and then put windex on the mirror and wipe again with the newspaper this time!
use white vinegar diluted in water and dry with newspaper..
you won't believe your eyes.
use news print paper or news papers.
wet with water and wipe your mirror.
the most effective and cheapest way to clean glass..
use vinegar with hot water and paper towels, you won't believe your eyes
ok those are good answers but they will both work the same unless it's really sticky then you might have to get some thing like goo gone or degreaser. also the newspaper thing so works one thing though you don't need soap for everyday use of washing windows or mirros with newspaper just water and news paper no streaks thats the point of it just adding water keeps the texture of the newspaper which is the cleaner. soap breaks that down quicker
have you ever heard of a microfiber cloth? they are in my book a miracle cloth...they clean without chemicals.just dampen the cloth and wipe your mirror...you may have to do this a few times to get rid of the windex and grease and once you do you can continue to use it and it won't smear...ever...you can usually find them in the auto dept. of any store or even at the dollar store...i love them!
I use paper(moisten with water a little) when I clean mirrors and windows.
I clean my mirror with a mix of 1 part rubbing Alcohol and 1 part water in a spray bottle. Never spray on the mirror only on a cloth and wipe sparkling clean
all good answer's this work's best for me vinegar water and
hear's the secret add ammonia use newspaper
Use some soft scrub with bleach it will clean that residue wash in off good then use the Windex
use some dawn dish-washing liquid. get a sponge and use the scratchy side and rub the mirror gently using the hottest water you can stand. if that does not work then you can try a can of adhesive remover and if that doesn't work get a new mirror.
