'These colors don't run'.is it true?

Question:I bought a vintage, standard sized American flag when it was still 48 states. Needless to say the white stripes and stars are considerable stained; do you think I can wash some of this out, or should I just leave it as it is?

Answers:
leave it as it is , otherwise itsnt vintage, u know!

i would soak it first... to make sure that the first lot of colour has gone and then i would wash it. or...if you have a handwash facility on your machine, you could put it on that setting.

OR better still-
leave it as it is.it wont be the same after a wash!
Maybe try talking with a proffesional dry-cleaner?
