Whats Liquid Bluing?
Question:
Answers:
Bluing is a liquid that you put into the final rinse of your washing machine to make whites brighter. It is available in the laundry aisle of most stores. Do not confuse it with metal bluing used on tools and gun metal.
its a liquid that turns metal blue, kind of a home do it yourself for bluing things like gun barrels instead of taking it somewhere to have it done like the factory does it, which is a long drawn out chemical process. Great for touch ups on your guns or any metal that is blued.
Its a caustic chemical used to "blue" metal like a gun barrel. It darkens the metal with a chemical reaction. It colors pretty much any metal its applied to. I've used it on a shotgun barrel that I scratched a few years back. Works great if you want to darken any metal.
The more common bluing, well in the '50's, was used to make clothes whiter. My grandmother used it, but now we have much better products like Biz and OxiClean without all that drama.
It's a form of bleach.
When I had white shears i would rinse them in Bluing. They were so white and pretty.
