Can you dye towels? My towel are turning yellow?
Question:my white towel are turning yellow, with spots...they are fairly new...not sure whats going on...i use bleach...well anyways...i wanted to do a navy color...they are 100& cotton.would it work. have you done this before/did it work.
Answers:
Yes you can, there are kits out there that you can purchase that tell you exactly how to do it and some companies allow you to only purchase what you want not the whole kit with several different colors.
Hope this helps.
Dying has never worked for me. If this isn't happening to your other clothes, then you are probably using too much bleach
Dyeing towels is probably not the greatest idea. Since towels get washed quite a bit they will tend to fade and bleed. It is really hard to get dyes to set and color well on larger items. It can be done, but speaking from experience, it just doesn't work all that well.
Try finding some bluing and see if that helps bring the white back to the towels. You can find the powder in with additives such as borax at stores like Walmart. I add it about once every two months to my whites and it does brighten them up after they have been bleached. Just remember to follow the instructions and dissolve all the powder before washing or you will have blue spots.
You sure can!
