Which is better a gas dryer or an electric dryer and which is more efficient?

Question:

Answers:
What do you mean by better?

Overall, the gas dryer will cost you less to operate.

That's probably more of a 'your opinion' answer. There are different reasons for going with each. In MY opinion, I believe the electric is the best overall efficient choice. I wouldn't go with gas for anything nowadays. Ü
They are both very efficient since the electric model will be EnergyStar. The issue here is the cost to operate.

While the gas dryer is about $50 more expensive up front (and may have an offsetting rebate) the electric dryer will cost far more to operate. I haven't done a cost/benefit analysis for several years, but in Austin the initial cost was recouped in just 2-3 months.
both sre great and pull alot of current
you HAVE HIGH BILL EITHER WAY..USE A CLOTHES LINE IF POSSIBLE
I've had both gas and electric dryers. They both seemed to do about the same job. It costs about the same to run either one. Just depends on which you would rather pay, gas bill or electric bill?
One benefit of an electric dryer is that you don't have to worry about a possible gas leak. In my first rental house the landlord hired a plumber to hook up the gas dryer for me. But he let his untrained apprentice do the job unsupervised. Our house filled up with natural gas in just the few hours that we were away after the install. Thank God for the fire dept. they set up big fans that got the gas out, and we were safe. Lesson learned! I learned how to do that job myself.
I like a gas dryer, it dries faster than electric and is less costly.
