Throw cover smells icky :)?
Question:I left a cover on our outdoor swing which I forgot about over the winter. It didn't look like it got damage from the moisture, but when I tossed it in the wash then left it folded for a few days, when I pulled it out it smelled like the dog had used it to sleep FOR YEARS! lol
I washed it again, once or twice, including with bleach, but it hasn't helped. Is there anything I can do to get rid of that odour?
Thanks!

Try rinsing the cover in vinegar. Just put some in the rinse water of the wash cycle. Or, you could put it over a clothes line and just allow it some fresh free flowing air. Or, you could sprinkle it with baking soda, and allow that to absorb the odors before another wash. Or, you could use Febreeze type product. Anyway you go good luck!
Peace.
trying soaking in the washing machine tub with just 2 cups of vinegar for an hour then run it through a full cycle, then repeat using soap .that has worked for me in getting rid of smells
Sounds like a mildew has taken up residency in the cover. Try washing it again with some vinegar (1/4-1/2 cup) or baking soda (3/4-1 cup) in the washer and on the hot setting.
But I wouldn't recommend mixing the two at the same time, although I haven't done it, I'd wonder about the interaction.
Try and wash it with white vinegar, that should help take out most of the smell.
Wash in one cup of White Vinegar in the hottest water the cover can handle, do not add any detergent and put on a full cycle, do not add any fabric softners as vinegar will soften and clean and remove odors also will remove residues left behind from the detergents, also removes doggie odors and will disinfect Good Luck !
I use oxyclean. It helps with tough stains and yucky smells.
Try washing it in Baking soda...There's also a product called odo b gone I think it's at Wal- Mart and it helped me with a cat smell...just spray it heavily then put it in a trash bag sealed up for a few days..Good Luck
I would throw it back into the laundry with some baking soda. Baking soda is a natural odor eliminator.
