Does borox soap really keep spiders out?
Question:I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of this. And if you have tried it - and does it work? With having animals i wanted something save to use around them and i heard about this.
Have a great day everyone - and thanks

It works for many things. Around the perimeter of the room it will help keep out spiders. Sprinkled in the carpet it will kill fleas and their eggs. It is a desiccant so it will dry damp carpets/papers/clothing/etc. If dissolved in corn syrup it is the same ant bait as Teggro. It raises the pH of water considerably and is useful for bringing up swimming pool pH as well as buffering it. It's the main ingredient in all swimming pool algaecides.
The list goes on and on. Borax is an extremely useful chemical besides just using it for laundry.
I have heard of using Borax to get rid of ants not spiders.
I suspect you do not like spiders? They ARE very beneficial in that they eat other bugs you do not want. However, keep removing their webs and this will discourage them.
I have heard that it works to keep roaches out, but not spiders. Spider are tough as roaches to get rid of. You have nothing to lose by trying it. However most webs are up high and might be difficult to apply it to. (unlike along the walls on the floor for roaches.)
I you have never used Borax in your laundry I do recommend it. It can whiten without bleach, deodorize, and cleans stains well. It is used as a "booster" for your regular detergents. I can buy the cheaper detergents and it cleans most all of my stuff well. Saves money. After all I don't roll in the grass or spill huge amounts of ketsup and mustard down my shirt anymore. LOL Maybe a little wine now and then. :) If I should need to handle a rare very dirty load I add the borax.
Lastly I have always heard to vacuum spider webs often to keep them down. I like to put an old knee high stocking securely on the intake and and remove it right after i vacuum. Put it in a zip lock type bag (so they don't escape) and toss out.
Have a good day
