How can I clean my oven that I feel like chucking out?
Question:I have an oven that works fine but is really greasy and need to clean it, Has anybody got some tips to make life easier??

Take it to the car wash! It really works good.
EasyOff oven cleaner. Follow the directions. More than one application, if necessary, but that should do the trick.
Buy Easy Off oven cleaner at your local discount store or grocery store. Also buy a pair of rubber gloves so the chemicals don't come in contact with your skin. Then lay newspapers or an old vinyl shower curtain in front of your stove so you don't have that icky, greasy mess on your floor when you are done cleaning your oven! Read the directions on the can, I prefer the overnight method myself as I am not a patient person!! Then when you get up all you have to do is wipe it down. If necessary, repeat the process until clean!!

Back years ago I read a solution to cleaning an oven: turn your oven on to 350, when it reaches that temp. shut off and put a 3 qt or larger pan of boiling water and on top rack 1 cup of ammonia (you will want to have adequate ventilation. Let set over night, next morning wipe with damp cloth. You may have to scrub a little, but it worked GREAT for me, and I was surprised at the results.
I liked this method better than using the Easy Off because it took forever just to wipe the slime out of it and I was never sure if I even got all the stuff out. With the above method, the only thing that would possibly be left behind, would be anything you didn't wipe out, which would be the baked on food already.
Then after it's clean, just try to keep any future spills cleaned up. But don't wait as long for your next oven cleaning and it shouldn't take as long to clean out. I have also found that those Mr. Clean or even the no-name brand "Eraser" sponges seem to to an excellent job of cleaning in between oven cleanings. Those little sponges work great!
