How can I remove permanent marker from wood as my two year old has drawn on my dresser.?

You had better hope that there is a very thick protective finish on that dresser.
Get a very fine sandpaper (around 140 grit or better), and sand LIGHTLY at the mark. (Remember to sand WITH the grain of the wood.) Hopefully you won't have to go through all the levels of waterproofing to remove the whole of the mark. Once the mark is gone, you can spray that sanded area lightly with a clear varathane or urethane product that has a finish that will match the dresser (high gloss, satin, or whatever).
Probably not, I'm not very sure, but if you can't ..just spray paint you dresser black?? ( reckon it;s a great idea ...don't you?)
get rubbing alocohol (like doctors use before giving a shot) wipe it on the marker marks and wipe away. It should work. I use the alcohol prep wipes that the doctors actually use (my mom's a nurse) and it removes permenant marker from almost anything!
Hair spray - the cheaper the better.
use a magic easer sponge you can buy at wal-mart and hair spray thats what my daugther-in law used it worked
Use pine sol and a dry cloth. Rub hard and don't mix with water you need full strength
