What can I use for a homemade rust remover?

Question:I actually have a dog chain that is rusted and everything I have searched up so far has told me to scrub it off because they were talking about pipes or cars. But I was wondering if there was anything out there I could possibly just soak it in, then wipe off with a rag or something. I figured soaking it would be easier just for the fact that it is not a sturdy metal for one, and for two it has small areas that are hard to reach. Does anyone have any ideas?

Answers:
spray the rusted area with WD40. It should dissove the rust out and lubricate the area at the same time.

Ace =)
