Organizing a teens room ?
Question:my room is really unorganized. i have alot of nick-nacks and little on top of my shelfs and dressers like porcelin dolls , statues, etc. how can i clear the clutter?
also how can i organzie the rest of my room?

I just rearranged and organized my room yesterday so I know what you are going thru. Honestly with the dolls and the stuff that you never use but you wanna keep them, put them in totes and away..like in your closet or something. Also if you can, it helps to rearrange things like put your bed on a different wall or move it around somehow.

my room is like that too, and I'm also a teen.wut i plan on doing is getting shelves on my walls and for my nick nacks I'm getting a couple of big plastic boxes and putting them in there! The shelves would be good for ur dolls! hope i helped and good luck
I am in the same crisis!! I want to remodel my room to be less childish, but I have too much stuff. Yesterday, I took it all out of my room, sell what you can sell, toss what you can't sell, donate what you can't sell but can't throw away, and keep only a few items. For every one item you keep, give away/sell/throw away three items. Good luck!!
well go through everything in your room and decide if you need it or not. and if you dont need it, give it too someone who does =] . also if you want to organize, organize by categories.
When i was younger i had a load of nick nacks too. I just went through my room and thought do i really need it, i either bind it, gave it to a Charity shop or put it in a box.
I used shoe box's, i had a shoe box for makeup, little nick nacks that i didn't want to get rid of and all sorts of things.
My porcelain dolls i just used a hairdryer on them to get rid of the dust, then put them all in a big box wraped in newspaper, then put the box under my bed, as i didn't want to put them in the loft. Once you have got rid of the stuff you dont need just look at your room and see what goes best, theres no need to do this all in one day, as one thing you dont want to bin one day you might want to bin another day, Good luck anyway. Buy large tubs and store all your stuff in it. Put in the basement or garage. Or better yet have a yard sale and make a few dollars to spend on paint and updated bed covers
You can start by thinking about what you really need. If you really like it but don't want to display it, you can store it in the garage or basement. Use plastic and decorative bins to store magazines, papers, letters, and stuff like that.
Sort all of the items you own into piles in another clear room. Paper, CD's, electronics and misc. can all be catagories. Get rid of the things you have duplicates of, or you just do not want anymore.
When you narrowed it down to a few things, put it back in the room, on shelves, in drawers and in bins. Once a week, do a 10 minute clean up to make sure you always have a clean room. Also, for the knick-knacks, you can wrap them in newspaper and store them in boxes.
Try to get these things: some big plastic containers with lids and some of those bags you can shrink using the vacuum cleaner.
Put soft toys, sentimental clothes etc into the bags and srink out all the air - they will fit into small storage spaces.
Put all rigid and flat things neatly into the lidded boxes and store at bottom of closet, cupboard or wardrobe.
All the rest... mmm. Be ruthless and make room for your new image and tidiness! Give away and throw out all the old stuff.
Now - give your room a good clean. Sweep, vacuum, wash, dust, get rid of cobwebs, wash the blind/drapes/curtains. Shake the rug, vacuum the carpet. Go! Change your bed linen, shake your cushions.
From now on, when you have a nice enough space, tackle a square metre every day, including weekends. This will mean you never have clutter or mess again. Just one metre, just one day - good luck.
