I just turned my mattress and found mould. Can I clean it or is it ruined?
Question:the mattress is only about 3 years old & if any one knows a way to clean it please help!!

I'd dispose of the mattress & buy a new one. You can't be sure how much mold you're dealing with that can't be seen. Your lungs will thank you.
I'd get rid of it. Who knows how much the mold has spread into the mattress. Also, try to find out where the mold came from, you may have a much larger problem.
Spray with lysol and see what happens. It should just go away, if not you will have to clean with a vinegar and water or clorox and water solution--Put the solution on a cloth and rub it--do not saturate it--then sit down with a good book and run your hair dryer on it to dry out.
I would not take the chance on cleaning it. Mold can have a huge effect on your health and can cause damage that is not reversible. It is not worth the risk. I no that mattress's can be expensive but at least you wont have to worry about your health.
You can get rid of mold with a bleach/water mixture. Of course, it will probably take the color out of your mattress but it will kill the mold. I'd start by trying a 1:2 ratio. 1 part bleach to two parts water.
A friend and I cleaned a moldy mattress receintly. We used a little bleach in water and scrubbed it. We let it sit out in the sun to dry. Then we rinsed it with plain water and let it dry again. It worked well and didn't smell or look questionable after.
Replace the mattress. Your health isn't worth saving a few dollars.
The only other thing you might try is take a carpet steam cleaner and use bleach dilute with water into where the soap goes and try cleaning it that way. Make sure when done the mattress gets dried, have plenty air stirring have the ac set back until the mattress is completely dried. Then I would spray the mattress with Lysol.
I'd get rid of it. I dont think you can get mold out.
