Hairspray thoroughly, then wash jeans in the machine as normal. Any brand will do.

Permanent Marker Stain Removal from Clothing
You can try to remove permanent marker stains by rinsing the stains with cold water until the water runs clear. Place the fabric on a paper towel, then saturate the stains with rubbing alcohol, using a cotton ball as a blotter. Change paper towels as necessary as it absorbs the color. Wash the garment in the hottest water possible for the fabric, adding bleach (color-safe for colored fabrics), then rinse in warm water. Unfortunately, permanent marker is called permanent for a reason and cannot always be removed. Good Luck! =)
What in the hell is sharpie?
Spray deodorant, contains the right chemicals to make the ink become a liquid again. Spray loads to get the ink to drip out of the fibres. And if possible try a test spot on the denims somewhere thats not noticable to be sure that there will be no bad side effects.

If possible spray from the other side, to drive the ink out. Spraying on the same side as the ink may well force the ink in to the fibres.

This methot is usefull for removing permanent pen from walls and other surfaces, if ever a small child gets hold of a permanent pen!
