How can i get moth balls odor out of the pop up camper I just bought?
Question:What will get rid of mothball smell?
Answers:
Febreeze
This is what I'd do it it was me. I get some ferbreeze and spray it in the camper. Then I'd let it air out and after that I'd set some small dishes of baking soda around the camper. Baking soda is a natural odor eliminator and will absorb the smells.
Burn a bundle of dried sage in it. They always sell them at metaphysical shops. Often they call them "smudge sticks." The bundle of sage you just burn like insence, but don't leave it unattended...it's still a fire hazard. Usually the thisck smoke will cleanse the air pretty well. If you still have odor, try diluting pure eucalyptus oil in some water in a spray bottle and spraying that around. Be careful not to get it on any upholstery, though, as oil can leave oil spots. Good luck!
Air freshener
Box of baking soda
Clean it
etc.
If you have an air cond., put an air freshener (that clings to it) on it.
The odor has attached itself to the fabric. You can clean surfaces but if you don't treat the fabrics in your camper (carpets, seat covers, curtains), it will linger for a while. Open your camper up, spray the fabrics with an odor neutralizer, there are several on the market, such as Febreez and Oust, both are great. Keep the camper opened, and possibly repeat after a couple of hours. When you close the camper up, run the a/c unit (clean filters) for a bit. It should be fresh and smelling like new! It will take a little work, but its not hopeless.
