How do you get mashed in cotton wool out of a carpet?
Question:i recently had a house party and at some point during the night a packet of cotton wool pads fell on the floor, these got kicked around and stepped on and are now really mashed into the carpet
There's now white cotton wool fluff covering most of the carpet in my living room. I've tried hoovering it up but that doesnt seem to work.any ideas?
Answers:
try to use a broom, the one that is made out of corn not the cheap plastic ones.
You are gonna have to go old school on this one, but it will work.
make an insurance claim and get all new carpet or call Stanley Steamers.
What is a cotton wool pad anyway? Was it a cotton pad- like for make up?
you need a damp cloth or sponge and wipe over with that, the dry cottonwool should stick to the wet sponge, a bit like when you get fluff on your clothes,
sellotape.just get it up with the sticky side!
Use Sellotape, will take time but it will come off. Or any other kind of sticky tape will do
you could try sellotape
take duct tape and wrap it around your hand sticky side out. press it down to the carpet and it should pick up all the loose wool fibers but not harm your carpet.
Try using some sellotape, the sticky side might pick up some of the cotton wool!
Good luck.
Washing up glove dipped in water, scraped across the carpet. It works for hairs too. Otherwise, sellotape but that isn't good for a big area.
Would combing help or some sort of static charge like rubbing it with a balloon? There are things you can buy to get cat hair out of fabric which might work in the same way.
I bought a manual broom at Target called the One Sweep. It was around $10 and has rubber teeth that get all sorts of dust and hair out of carpet. If they're still selling them I'd highly recommend using it to get the fluff out or your carpet.
