Answers:
If you dust and vacuum your room once a week, change the sheets, air it out when the weather is half way decent without humidity, it shouldn't be that dirty. Maybe it is the clutter? Go around and put things away that seem to make it look cluttered; put magazines away that you want to save, buy small baskets that you can put small things in that you use frequently, organized. If you rarely use items that are out on your dresser, put them in a drawer to create a less cluttered look. It is amazing how little we actually need to live in the material world. Less is more comforting, relaxing and less stressful.

throw everything in the trash
make you mom do it,i do.lol
Make a schedule. Don't overwhelm yourself and maybe clean one section of it one day a week. Maybe... the closet on Mondays, under the bed on Tuesdays, the top of the dresser on wednesdays, dresser drawers on Thursdays... and so on & so forth.

Also, make sure you have a trash can and a laundry bin in your room... and use them... this will keep a lotta things off of the floor.

Also opt for more storage space, so everything has a place of its own. Bookshelves and storage bins are great! I actually put a bookshelf in my closet so I could organize all of my jeans and t-shirts. I just fold them and place them on the shelves and I can see them all without having to open up any drawers.

Good luck!
Get rid of some stuff. I'm sure that about half of the stuff that's in your room doesn't have any need in there. Just have a small garage sale outside your house and then store all of the other stuff that you want to keep in a closet or something.
What I would do is this: start with one thing at a time or one area at a time. If I'm cleaning my room, usually I'll clean off my dresser, pick up the floor, make the bed then vacuum. Just one step at a time. When you take your clothes off put them in the hamper, when you get clean clothes put them away immediately. Trash? Throw it away. It's really quite simple! (Although I know it's not fun)!!
Start by making your bed/changing your sheets every week. If you are having issues with clothes and clutter, invest in some shelves with baskets or cubes. Make sure you have enough room in your closet, and get rid of clothes you don't wear. That should make more space.

Bottom line: If you have less stuff, there is less stuff to pick up.

and DO NOT EAT IN BED!
