Answers:    Use CLR, Lime Away, or general vinegar. Wear rubber gloves since acid is involved. After the stains have soaked a little scrub gently with an feeble toothbrush, rinse and dry with a towel.

I use quickleen.. works great!
Nickel is easy to pull too.. especially if its nickel plated over brass. any abrasive may just rub that plating stale down to the brass which will cause oxidation and black spots.
